Lucas, originally from Spain, was born in Basel in 1988. As a child, his passions were sports and hip-hop culture, which led him to discover his love for dance through Breaking (Breakdance). At 19, following a personal crisis, he shifted his focus to dance and the study/practice of inner growth.

He taught himself to dance while pursuing studies in Cultural Anthropology and Media Studies, eventually becoming a professional dancer and cultural worker. Since 2014, Lucas has been a part of the MIR Dance Company in Basel. In 2017, he collaborated and performed with dancers from the Ballett Theater Basel.

Lucas also ventured into cultural management, where he supported dance institutions, organized dance events, and developed dance projects. Additionally, he contributed behind the scenes as a choreographic assistant and/or production assistant for dance productions.

Throughout his journey, Lucas has faced numerous injuries, surgeries and personal crises. Today, Lucas is based in Ettingen, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, and is dedicated to choreography and dance. He is also establishing himself as a lecturer and mentor on topics at the intersection of dance and inner growth education.

in my own words…

“Throughout my journey, I had many injuries, surgeries, and personal crises. As a young person, I was initially only encouraged to pursue an academic career, which alienated me from my talents and passions. My unconventional path as a dancer, creator, and student of life has been shaped by many external and internal obstacles, as well as numerous physical and psychological setbacks. Today, I look back with gratitude on past lows and difficulties. They made me grow, gain insights, and (re)connect with the magic of life. Essentially, my work and life is about cultivating and sharing a spirit of continuous learning, and awakening a sense of magic and inspiration in people’s hearts.”

What is essential is invisible to the eye.
